CFD Analysis of Convective Heat Transfer in a Vertical Square Sub-Channel for Laminar Flow Regime

چکیده

The development of new practices in nuclear research reactor safety aspects and optimization recent reactors needs knowledge on forced convective heat transfer within sub-channels formed between several fuel rods or exchanger tubes, not only the fully developed regime but also developing laminar flow regime. main objective this was to find a correlation equation for calculating coefficient vertical square sub-channels. Recently, simulation study conducted sub-channel Reynolds number range 400 ≤ Re 1700. Simulations were carried out using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code modeling already defined software. novelty lies analysis entrance effect by proposing empirical that can then be inserted into STAT computer code. surface temperature distribution around tangential direction active cylinders shows implementation dummy current simulate exist real core. simulated is its condition (entrance region). A region form Nu = 2.094(Gz)0.329 Graetz 161 Gz 2429 obtained from study.
